Chapters 7-10

I think it is interesting how the sisters contrast each other. Some of the sisters seem to have no grasp of reality and just whimsically chase boys around, such as Lydia. Lizzy on the other hand is very rational and caring. Lizzy puts Jane above herself as depicted when she walks three miles to see her. Lydia on the other hand has different intentions as she says, "We will go as far as Meryton with you. If we make haste, perhaps we may see something of Captain Carter before he goes.

  1. In addition to Matt's statement, I think the contrast of the Bennet sisters adds a good element to the story. Each girl not only has mainly their own character, but also reflects the sisters' choices. Such as the relationship difference with Jane and Bingly, and the other sisters reactions. For example, how Lizzy is very thoughtful, complementing Jane on her beauty, and how Jane specifically states that she thinks, "...I (Jane) expect them, as you (Lizzy) take them as mere compliments.."
